Qualcomm Technologies introduced Snapdragon Satellite at CES 2023, the world’s first satellite-based two-way messaging solution for premium smartphones. Qualcomm Snapdragon Satellite Connectivity will connect people around the world through mobile messaging, starting with devices based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform lineup. Powered by Snapdragon 5G modem RF systems and supported by the fully operational Iridium® Qualcomm Snapdragon Satellite Connectivity constellation, the new technology will enable OEMs and
other service providers to offer truly global coverage. The smartphone solution uses Iridium’s weatherproof L-band spectrum for uplink and downlink.
